About Hammersmith Press Limited

Hammersmith Press is an independent publishing house producing books for general readers and health professionals that promote better understanding of health issues through greater knowledge of the human body and mind, with a particular emphasis on controversial themes that challenge received wisdom.
Founded in 2004 we see a need for books that address readers as interested, intelligent custodians of their own mental and physical health who want to consider the advice they receive critically, wherever it comes from, rather than taking what they are told on trust.

Our books:

address key health issues, many of them chronic problems that can be greatly helped by changes in diet and dietary supplements
contain detailed descriptions of how the body works but offer clear explanations of underlying processes and any technical terms
refer to published, scientifically validated research findings
are written by doctors with long experience of treating the conditions they describe and who are prepared to challenge received wisdom

We also publish more literary non-fiction with a medical or health connection and are planning a series of books for medical students and doctors.

Fibi’s writing for teenagers like herself with diabetes has been recognized in the BMA Book Awards 2010, with the Young Author’s Award. She received her certificate for No Added Sugar from Professor Averil Mansfield, Chairman of the BMA Board of Science, on 14 September.
